Ruth is a partner in consultancy firm Ideas at Work. She has 30 years’ experience working in and with local councils, in particular, growth areas on the outskirts of cities. She has held senior roles across social planning, strategic planning and community services and has worked with alliances of councils in regional, state and national contexts. Ruth has also worked in state government and in the non-government sector. Her expertise includes research, gathering the information needed to make a case, collaboration with a range of stakeholders and advocacy at state and national levels. Her most recent endeavour, with Belgin Besim, has been the Good Ideas Put to Good Use Program for women in Local Government.
