Ruth is a successful community leader with a passion for advancing equality and supporting masterful leadership in the local government and community sectors. She is a recognised expert in gender equality in local government as well as beings an inspiring speaker and innovative trainer.
Before establishing her own consulting business, Ruth enjoyed a career as a scientist and project manager in the Victorian Government and worked with diverse agricultural industries and communities. Ruth is a past Councillor & Mayor, nationally recognised with an OAM for her outstanding community leadership after the 2009 Black Saturday bushfire disaster, and was also awarded a National Emergency Medal.
Encouraging greater participation of women in politics is a passion and Ruth is a Fellow of Melbourne University’s Pathway-to-Politics program. In 2017, she co-founded #HonouraWoman, to push for a more inclusive Australian Honours system and a fairer system to recognise outstanding women.
