Ruby Susan Mountford is an experienced advocate for the LGBTIQA+ and autistic communities, and a leader and facilitator within Victoria’s bisexual community.
She currently serves as President and Chairperson of Melbourne Bisexual Network (MBN), sits on Autism Spectrum Australia’s (ASPECT) LGBTIQA+ advisory committee, and is an alumni of Leadership Victoria’s LGBTI Emerging Leaders and Autism CRC’s Future Leaders programs.
With a background in journalism and communications, and a deep passion for driving social change, Ruby has produced and presented weekly current affairs and speciality programs and podcasts on LGBTIQ+ community radio since 2015. In 2016 she launched Joy 94.9’s first bisexual-focused program, Triple Bi-Pass, and co-founded MBN 2017.
Ruby is regarded as an effective and passionate public speaker, with highlights including moderating the keynote panel at 2018 Victorian Youth Summit, presenting at the 2018 LGBTIQ Women’s Health Conference, and leading the Bisexual Caucus at the Better Together LGBTIQ+ conference in 2018 and 2019.
Ruby has been nominated for a GLOBE Community Award, has been featured on Triple J, Channel 31, and BBC Radio, and her writing has been published in The Huffington Post UK, Star Observer, the 2018 Melbourne Women’s Film Festival Critics Lab, Junkee, and Archer Magazine.
