Rachella Thomas is a major event expert and thought-leader with over 17 years’ experience producing high-impact events for business, government, not-for-profit and community.
Rachella brings a wealth of event leadership and practical expertise from her many years in senior roles with organisations including: State Government of Victoria, Wyndham City Council, Royal Melbourne Show, Oxfam Australia, Arts Victoria, University of Melbourne, Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, and St Vincent’s Hospital.
Rachella gained recognition as General Manager of events for Melbourne Food and Wine Festival with multiple wins in the Victorian Tourism Awards Hall of Fame – Major Festivals and Events 2010 and Major Festivals and Events 2008/2009. In 2011, Rachella’s work won CEO Award for Innovation and Customer Experience in the Royal Melbourne Show Commercial Exhibitors Awards.
Rachella spearheads Event Kit, a team of specialists in large-scale events. Event Kit has been shortlisted for Powercor Geelong Business Excellence Awards 2017.
Rachella has shared her knowledge in mentoring leadership roles including Awards Judge for Service Skills Victoria’s Developing Tourism Leaders Award, Director of Strange Fruit Company, and Program Director of Extravaganza Geelong, student mentor at William Angliss Institute.
As a side project, Rachella founded popular online food and culture showcase Eat Geelong.
