Olivia McMillan

Associate

About Me

At Phi Finney McDonald, a boutique class actions firm, I am an Associate focusing on progressing the firm’s litigation projects and investigating new matters. Prior to joining Phi Finney McDonald, I worked at Russell Kennedy specialising in administrative and public law litigation. I have experience representing Victorian Government departments in negligence claims, and in judicial and merits review of administrative decisions. I also have significant experience representing asylum seekers and refugees at all stages of the migration process, including strategic litigation in the Federal and High Courts. I believe that protecting the rule of law is crucial to a well-functioning legal system. To that end, I have volunteered with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Darebin Community Legal Centre and various Law Institute of Victoria committees including the Refugee Law Reform Committee and Human Rights Committee. I am a member of the Legacy Caseload Working Group which won the Law Institute of Victoria’s Access to Justice Award in 2017.
