Jan is the director of Strategy Matters Pty Ltd, a consulting agency focussed on international aid and development and more recently working with Indigenous organisations and NGOs in Australia.
Jan’s skills are focussed on organizational strategy and management, cross-cultural engagement, facilitation and training, program design, monitoring and evaluation and research.
Jan has 25 years experience, initially managing emergency health programs in Sudan with Community Aid Abroad (now Oxfam Australia) and then as the director of their global emergency program. She had 10 years at Australian Volunteers International working in project management, training, organizational and program development. In 2002 Jan started working as an independent consultant and established Strategy Matters in 2008. She has worked in 18 countries throughout the Asia-Pacific and Africa, especially in PNG, the Solomon Islands, Cambodia and Indonesia. Clients include Australian and International NGOs, Australian government departments, especially DFAT, UN agencies and international contracting companies.
Jan is currently a Board member of Oaktree and the Eco-Centre and works pro bono for Maninwarntikura.
