Helen’s work focuses on community engagement. Her philosophical commitment to feminism informs her daily practice that diversity of views and voices is fundamental to robust community. To this end she is active in the YWCA, Australian Women in Agriculture and regional justice planning. Helen is a fifth generation farmer in the north east of Victoria, growing food (beef) and fibre (wool). Since 1982 has has practiced law in regional Australia; as a country lawyer, as a researcher and as a legal academic. She specialises in the development of agreements through facilitated conversations. She makes sure people are aware of existing resources and networks, whilst assisting them to navigate through the systems.
