Ruth has had 30 years of community-based adaptation and change for socio-ecological integration in land and water policy and planning. She is a Professor of Environmental Sociology at Melbourne University in the School of Ecosystem and Forest Sciences, Faculty of Science, and is Deputy Director of the Office for Environmental Programs (Master of Environment). She is commited to participatory processes and consequences for deliberative democracy and public good. She is a feminist, educator, artist and parent.
