Aldona Kmiec [pronounced Kmyehch] is a Polish-born Australian artist living and working between Ballarat and East Gippsland. Experiencing with immersive photography and installation art, her practice aims to prompt questions about the cultural and social prejudices and the perceived ‘otherness of the other’.
Multicultural Ambassador of Ballarat (2012-2014), facilitator of Ballarat Faces series of large scale photographic murals and recent photo-sound installation at the former Ballarat Convent In the Process of Healing told the story of one refugee family and struggle of survivors of sexual abuse.
