Clare McCartin is a Group Manager for Davidson, overseeing the Group’s Executive business unit across NSW, Victoria and Queensland in Australia.
Her promotion to this role, in July 2017, follows her extraordinary success in developing Davidson’s new Executive business in the highly competitive state of Victoria. She joined Davidson in 2015 and was tasked to build a business from scratch. Within less than two years, she had a team of nine (soon to be 13) and regularly exceeded her annual budget by a million dollars. She was named Australia’s top Recruiter of the Year in 2016 by SEEK.
Under Clare’s leadership, Davidson Executive has grown exponentially in Victoria, with renowned leaders lining up to join her team. Clare is repeating this success in NSW and Queensland and is helping to realise Davidson’s vision to raise the possibilities of what executive recruitment can look like. In the process, Clare is truly disrupting the local markets.
Clare is a forward-thinking, revolutionary business leader in the industry, impacting both on the continuous and strong growth of her company, as well as directly influencing gender equality at the highest levels of public sector in Australia as the founder and coordinator of the Top 50 Public Sector Women Victoria list, a ground-breaking project designed to highlight and recognise the work of female leaders in the public sector and provide a platform to encourage women to take the leap into executive positions.
Focusing a spotlight on inspirational female leaders, the Top 50 Public Sector Women list was launched last year and was so successful in Victoria that, in 2018, it has also launched in NSW and has the full support and partnership of Institute of Public Administration Australia and the Public Service Commissioner in both states. Clare’s relentless efforts have seen support of the project grow exponentially and has attracted an outstanding list of high profile judges. Clare now chairs the Top 50 Public Sector Women (Victoria) steering committee alongside senior members of IPAA and the Public Service Commission Victoria.
