Laura is the Development Manager of non-profit statewide Victorian youth music organisation, The Push. Prior to the birth of her first child, she held the role of Communications Manager (2008 – 2011) and Online Communications (2012 – 2013). Laura has 20 years experience working in the contemporary music, arts, community, media and entertainment sector in Australia. She has worked in numerous roles including print, online and community radio media/journalism, band bookings, event management, marketing, PR and photography, and was National Print, Online and Community Media Publicist for Australian Music Biz for eight years, working with numerous Australian independent acts such as The Basics and Elefant Traks/The Herd, and internationals such as Vanilla Ice and The Presidents of the United States of America. In addition to her extensive contemporary music sector roles, she has run a number of successful small arts industry businesses, and has worked as a contractor across arts, youth arts and children’s arts projects. Since the birth of her first child in 2011, she has adopted the role of looking after grants, reporting, philanthropy, sponsorship and partnership management at The Push. Previously in a full-time role at the organisation, she managed all social media communications, online communications/newsletters, publicity, marketing/advertising and media sponsorships/partnerships, working directly with artists, media, government, industry bodies, sector stakeholders, young people and the general community.
