About Me
JUDITH SMART is an adjunct professor at RMIT University, a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society of Victoria and deputy chair of the History Council of Victoria . She has published on Australian women’s organisations in the first half of the 20th century, as well as on women and political protest, women and religion, the Miss Australia beauty contest, and the social history of the home front in Victoria during World War I. She now serves as editor of the Victorian Historical Journal, and is co-author, with Marian Quartly, of Respectable Radicals: A History of the National Council of Women of Australia 1896–2006, as well as coeditor with Shurlee Swain of The Encyclopedia of Women and Leadership in Twentieth-Century Australia, an online reference tool at http://www.womenaustralia.info/leaders/index.htm.
